The goal of Individually Guided Education (IGE) is to produce high student achievement in terms of understanding, skills, and action patterns in various curricular areas, and to contribute to the healthy personal, social, ethical, and civic development of each student. A secondary goal is to promote higher job satisfaction in the school teaching staff. This report contains an analysis of data gathered from six IGE schools. The analysis is directed toward determining to what extent IGE has been implemented in the participating schools, and the nature of the relationship of IGE implementation and staff job satisfaction and student outcomes. Statistics are presented on the schoolwide features of IGE schools and staff characteristics. Data are included on features of instructional practices in mathematics and reading in the second and fifth grades, and on staff and student outcomes. Appendices provide detailed information on evaluation score development procedures used for determining schoolwide features of IGE schools and staff characteristics, features of instructional practices, and staff and student outcomes.
