Rock Point Community School: High School Study.
Tonigan, Richard F.; And Others
Presented to the Rock Point, Arizona school board and administration by a professional educational consultant, this document evaluates the elementary and junior high school programs and presents information and guidelines for continued high school planning. The study describes the background of the community of Rock Point and the Navajo reservation school which serves some 350 students between the ages of 5 and 14, in K-10. The evaluation of present programs indicates positive growth and development of past efforts for students, faculty, and community. An overview of existing facilities and the need for future construction and modifications for high school classes and dormitories reveals the plans for expanding the educational programs and increasing the use and sharing of existing systems, as additional grades are added at the senior high school level. Plans for state and regional accreditation, as grades 11 and 12 are included, reveal future goals for the school and community in accomplishing a complete educational system for the Indian children in Rock Point.
