Instructional Locations Away From the Main Campus, Fall 1979, State University of New York.

Comprehensive information about instructional locations away from the main campuses of the State University of New York is presented. Five statistical tables pertaining to fall 1979 data are included: (1) summary information on the 348 locations; (2) detailed information by institution on the locations; (3) instructional locations away from the main campus offering complete academic programs and information on program offerings and some of the characteristics of the location; (4) locations not offering a complete academic program but offering a minimum of 16 courses or having a minimum of 351 registrations; and (5) locations not offering a complete academic program but offering a minimum of eight courses or having a minimum of 176 registrations. A summary of the data indicates that of the 348 instructional locations away from the main campus, 155 (44.5 percent) were reported by state-operated/funded institutions, while 193 (55.5 percent) were reported by the community colleges. Information is presented on the age of the locations, faculty members, distance of the instructional locations from the main campus, reasons for establishing the locations, and student characteristics.
