This review is presented as a supplement to the main report of the Western Australia State Inquiry into Teacher Educaton. Since most of the information included was obtained directly from primary sources, little of it is available elsewhere. Much of this information could well be of value to the institutions for their own analysis and planning, and perhaps also of interest to the principal-employing authorities and professional teacher organizations. Much of the data in it have been presented in table form with only essential supporting commentary. The following topics are covered: (1) the structure and content of teacher education courses; (2) qualifications and other characteristics of staff in the teacher education institutions; (3) characteristics and other data relating to student teachers and beginning teachers; and (4) the continuing professional development of teachers.
