Baenziger, Betty
Through the use of word problems relevant to the field of office occupations education, this workbook presents a concept-oriented approach to competency development in ten areas of basic mathematics: (1) the expression of numbers as figures and words; (2) the addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division of whole numbers, fractions, and decimals; (3) ratios and proportions; (4) percents; (5) measurement; (6) introductory algebra; (7) problem solving; (8) geometry; (9) graphs; and (10) probability and statistics. For each competency area, the workbook presents a series of word problems designed to reinforce student learning and to demonstrate the practical applicability of the mathematical concepts to situations found in office occupations. An answer key for the problems is appended. (JP)
