A selection of papers presented a the Twentieth Annual Conference of the Australian College of Education, this delineates the present philosophies of education and work, and their connection, and suggests how some of these ideas are changing and must change to fit the society of the future. Part 1 presents twelve papers organized loosely under three themes: "The Changing World of Work,""The Individual and the World of Work," and "Education and the World of Work." Selected comments from group discussions and conference reviews also are presented. Part 2 examines the subthemes "From School to Work,""Post-School Education," and "Career Education" via five papers selected from the many submitted. A list of contributors with vitae is included.
