Happy Henry Half Dollar. Teacher's Guide [and] Student Materials.
Zishka, Phyllis
This unit, appropriate for second grade students, contains student materials and teacher's guide for teaching about the appearance, use, and value of the half dollar. Approximate time to complete the unit is six hours. The activities are designed for individualized instruction with a learning center approach. These activities include following taped instructions, making money rubbings, identifying half dollars from worksheets, finding items for less than or exactly fifty cents in a grocery advertisement, playing a candy jar game, and shopping at a "candy store." The teacher's guide lists objectives, materials needed, directions for setting up a math center, scripts for cassette tapes, reproducible worksheets, review sheets, answer keys, and a bibliography.
