Education for Allied Health Careers, 3rd Edition.
Dedman, Patricia L., Ed.
Designed for use by students, guidance counselors, educators and others, this third edition has five purposes: (1) identify educational programs in the allied health professions which are accredited by the Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation (CAHEA); (2) clarify the role of CAHEA in accrediting allied health educational programs; (3) identify the occupations for which CAHEA accredits programs; (4) present some basic financial aid information; and (5) tell where to write for additional information about CAHEA--accredited occupations, other health occupations, and certification/registration of occupations for which CAHEA accredits educational programs. Section One (Career and Educational Information) provides allied health questions and answers, financial aid information, occupational descriptions for CAHEA--accredited occupations, and statistical tables and figures. Section Two (CAHEA--Accredited Educational Programs) lists programs accredited through 1978, and programs accredited in 1979. The final section (Information Services) offers references for CAHEA--accredited allied health occupations and other health occupations. (LC)
