Teacher Characteristics that Influence Student Evaluations.
Peck, Robert; And Others
The relationship between teacher personality traits and student evaluation of teacher performance was studied. Fifty-three teachers from four elementary schools were rated by their sixth grade classes. The evaluating instrument was administered six weeks into the school year and again at the end of the year. Ratings were also provided by experienced observers and the teachers' self-evaluation. Comparisons between the three sets of evaluations were made and included consideration of changes in teacher behaviors resulting from feedback from students. (JD)
