Assessment of the Reliability of the Student Data Base.
Johnson, Joyce C.; And Others
The accuracy and reliability of the student data base at the University of the District of Columbia were assessed. The data base, which is used by administrators for planning purposes, consists of the number of students enrolled in various course sections, the number of students enrolled in various departments by levels, and the principal fields of specialization selected by students. Sources of data, methods of control, and documentation procedures were examined. Interviews were conducted with administrators of the computer center and with representatives of the various offices within the university that process, review, and collect student data. Results indicate that the student data base is accurate and reliable. Reevaluation is recommended since the project was undertaken during the consolidation of the university. (Author/SW)
