A Structured Guide for Selecting Training Materials in Adjustment Services.
Esser, Thomas J.
This guide identifies existing materials which form a nucleus of information in the adjustment services field. Five sub-processes within the larger adjustment services process are used as the framework by which this information is structured in the guide. They are (1) behavior observation, identification, and analysis; (2) developing the individualized adjustment plan; (3) implementing adjustment services and techniques; (4) program monitoring, record keeping, and reporting; and (5) program evaluation. In addition to these five sub-process units (units 2-6) an introductory unit (unit 1) on the adjustment services concept and the relationship with vocational evaluation is also provided. Each sub-process unit includes a brief overview or introduction followed by an annotated listing of suggested resource materials. If there is overlap in material content, the resource is assigned to the unit to which it is most directly applicable. Appendixes include a resource list that gives availability of all materials cited within the guide and a Resource Grid that gives a more complete breakdown of materials and the unit(s) to which they correspond.
