Three sections describing the Washington Pre-College Test (WPC) are presented. The first, Registration Booklet, is intended for high school students who may take the WPC. It describes the program; provides detailed instructions on completing the answer folder; lists colleges in Washington, Oregon, and Idaho which accept WPC results; and includes several registration items. These are: the Vocational Interest Inventory, background information items, and choice of college major or occupation. Sixteen sample achievement/ability test items are also presented. Section Two provides technical information for high school and college counselors. Each of the WPC components is described, and uses of the test for career planning are suggested. Over 50 bibliographic references are appended. The third section provides norms for students taking the academic subtests (English usage, spelling, reading comprehension, vocabulary, applied mathematics, mathematics achievement, spatial ability, mechanical reasoning, verbal composite, and quantitative composite) and the eight-category vocational inventory. Directions are presented to help the student examine career values, and to plan the amount of schooling required for a particular career.
