Institutional Planning for a Declining Enrollment.
Ishler, Richard E.
Many institutions of higher education are being faced with declining enrollments accompanied by a reduction in human and financial resources. As a result, long-range planning has become imperative. This paper discusses how the planning process evolved and was conducted at Emporia State University in order to cope with the projected enrollment decline over the next five years. Included are a discussion of the factors and conditions which instigated the planning, the development of the plan, faculty involvement, and a discussion of the components which are included in each department's plan.
