Vancouver Community College Market Research Task Force Report.
Vancouver Community Coll., British Columbia.
Part of a long-range planning process for Vancouver Community College (VCC), this report describes the college's service district and its student population and provides a basis for a projection of the college's enrollment from 1981 through 1986. After introductory material identifying the role of the Market Research Task Force within VCC's planning strategy, the report discusses the history of VCC, its administrative organization, the college's mission, the role of each of its campuses in meeting the needs of its service area, and the administrative and individual need factors which determine the area's educational demand. An examination of the size and composition of the student population from 1975 through 1978 is presented and followed by a statistical analysis of the community participation rate. Economic and demographic projections for the college's service district are then presented. The report concludes with a discussion of the weaknesses in existing data sources and a list of recommendations for the college's future educational direction. Maps and data tables are provided throughout. (JP)
