Fall Headcount Enrollments in Nebraska Institutions of Postsecondary Education 1973 through 1978. Detailed Enrollments for the Years 1975 through 1978. Report #4.
Nebraska Coordinating Commission for Postsecondary Education, Lincoln.
Enrollment data for Nebraska institutions of higher education are presented. Data were obtained from the Higher Education General Information Survey. Full- and part-time enrollment and headcount enrollment for fall 1973 through fall 1978 are compiled by type of institution, by institutional sectors, and by institution. Detailed fall headcount enrollments are given for 1975 through 1978 by student levels and classifications. While the enrollment in the fall of 1978 was higher than in the fall of 1973, full-time enrollments increased by only a little more than 9 percent. Part-time enrollments increased by almost 34 percent during this five-year period. Those students enrolled in degree-credit programs and courses but not carrying sufficient credit hours to be classified as full-time students also represent a greater proportion of the total 1978 enrollment than the total 1973 enrollment. It appears that increasing numbers of persons are taking advantage of the activities and services offered by the institutions in Nebraska, but an increasing proportion of these persons are doing so on a part-time basis.
