Designed as an aid for librarians and teachers in instructing elementary and secondary school students in library media skills, this handbook includes a detailed sequential list of such skills, as well as a list of books and media which concern the philosophy of teaching media skills or the materials used in developing skills programs. Arranged developmentally so that students can progress from one to the next in a logical manner, the skills are introduced at one level and re-taught or reviewed at a higher level with increasing complexity. Resources mentioned consist of professional books, workbook and skill sheet materials, audiovisual aids, ERIC publications, and individualized self-instructional study units.
