English Phonemic Unit Production Test.
Skoczylas, Rudolph V.
The English Phonemic Unit Test measures the ability to produce difficult English sounds which must be mastered to speak English well. The test has been used with students from kindergarten to college. The instument was consensually validated by bilingual specialists, after analyzing the test according to contrastive analysis procedures applied to both English and Spanish. Additional sounds, identified by teachers of English as a second language, have been incorporated into the test. The test-retest reliability coefficient was .81. (Two forms of the test--each containing thirty-six sentences--are listed on the scoring sheet for the 1972 revised edition of this test). (MH)
