Mock Trials: Scripts for Wisconsin Lawyers and Teachers.
Wisconsin State Dept. of Public Instruction, Madison. Div. of Instructional Services.
The document presents scripts prepared by experienced lawyers for seven mock trials. Designed for high school or adult audiences as introductions to the American legal system, the scripts use community lawyers, judges, and law officers as well as actors. Script topics include cases concerning automobile accidents, drunken driving, homicide, burglary, child abuse, and a landlord-tenant dispute. Each case lists and describes the participants, states the general facts of the case, states the facts for each witness, describes the issues, illustrates the exhibits, and suggests jury instructions. Time allotment for each case varies, but should take no longer than two and one half hours. As much verisimilitude as possible in terms of location and participants is encouraged. (CK)
