The Florida Model for a Vocational Personnel Development System.

Described is a vocational education model designed to increase cooperative effort for the improvement of vocational personnel. The introductory section discusses the need for a systematic approach to vocational personnel development in Florida, presents the goals of the system, and briefly summarizes the salient features of each component of the system. Section 2 expounds upon the three administrative components of the system: management, finance, and information services. The content component includes six areas of professional interest and concern and is found in the third section. The content components are (1) planning, (2) professional standards and practice, (3) instructional delivery, (4) curriculum and materials development, (5) research, and (6) evaluation. Each component section is codified and includes a definition of the component, goals and objectives, guiding principles, and guidelines for action by the system's coordinating council. (LRA)
