A limited statistical report of student aid dollars in each of the states is presented. The report covers only the following programs: Basic Education Opportunity Grant Program, Supplementary Educational Opportunity Grant Program, State Student Incentive Grant Program, College Work Study Program, The National Direct Student Loan Program, the Guaranteed Student Loan Program, and the Federally Insured Student Loan Program. Information is also included on state student grant programs, state appropriations for higher education, and Fall 1978 enrollment in each state. Federal programs outside the Office of Education and federal programs available on a categorical basis are not included. The only reported state programs are those providing need-based grants to students. All data except those for the federal Guaranteed Student Loan Program and the Federally Insured Student Loan Program are for the 1978-1979 school year; data for those two programs are for the 1977-1978 school year.
