How to Develop a Curriculum for Vocational Education. A Manual for New Hampshire's Vocational Educators.
Faust, John R.
Developed as part of a New Hampshire project entitled "Curriculum Activity Planning for Schools," this manual supplements the project guide (CE 021 833) on how to establish components for a competency-based vocational secondary school curriculum. The essential components for curriculum development are classified in an introductory section as inputs (developing program and needs assessment data statement, establishing job family cluster, and analyzing tasks to create competencies), plan (creating instructional objectives and selecting learning activities and instructional resources), and outputs (developing evaluation techniques and designing effective recordkeeping). Then, section 1 provides a glossary of terms and meanings related to the components. Sections 2-4 contain definitions, procedures, examples, and worksheets to construct each component. The last section provides suggestions for the sequence and form of activities within each component classification.
