The relationship between full-time faculty salaries at Canadian colleges and universities and faculty qualifications and experience are examined for 1971-1972. Information is presented in six tables for 97 institutions. The first three tables examine the relationship between salaries and the number of years since award of first degree. Table 4 provides numbers of, and median salaries for full-time teachers by years since award of highest earned degree, by sex, and by highest earned degree. Numbers of, and median salaries for full-time teachers by rank, sex, and highest earned degree are shown in Table 5. Table 6 records numbers of, and median and quartile salaries for full-time teachers by sex, highest earned degree, and by field of teaching. In addition, median salaries since 1966-67 are given for comparison for each field of teaching. Methods of calculation, classification of major fields of teaching, and the rounding technique used are explained and salient points highlighted. (SF)
