Opportunities available to residents of Southern states through the Academic Common Market are listed in this book. The Market is an interstate agreement among Southern states for sharing uncommon programs. Participating states are able to make arrangements for their residents who qualify for admission to enroll in specific programs in other states on an in-state tuition basis. A directory of the state coordinators for the Common Market is provided. Opportunities available in 1979 to residents of the following states are listed alphabetically by program (i.e., course of study or major): Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Mississippi, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, and West Virginia. Course and degree offerings and institutions at which they are given are shown for each state. The second section contains brief descriptions of the programs and addresses for inquiries about admission. A topical index of the programs precedes the notes for reference in finding all programs related to a specific discipline field.
