Environmental Education: Architecture's Role.

This paper provides information to public officials, state legislators, and the general public regarding the Institute's policy and initiatives on the development of environmental education legislation or regulation. It supports state legislation to establish environmental education programs at all levels of public and private education. Included are discussions of the AIA policies on environmental education, the role of the architect in environmental concerns, a discussion of the Environmental Education Act of 1970, examples of state programs and legislation, and suggestions for establishing environmental education programs in response to implementation of proposed legislation and regulations.
