A project was designed to develop a methodology to identify, select, and disseminate information on innovations in occupational education programs of Oregon community colleges that were developed and implemented without the use of vocational research and exemplary fundings. A methodology for identifying, selecting, and disseminating information regarding unfunded promising practices was developed by the project's staff and validated by a steering committee. The methodology was then subjected to field trials in two community colleges and revised based on those experiences. The expected contribution of potential impact on vocational education is that vocational educators will be able to identify promising practices developed at other community colleges and at their own community colleges which can be used to improve their programs. The major project accomplishments were the development of innovation selection criteria and a decision making process for application to non-funded community college projects.
