The American Government Collection is comprised of 38 course objectives and related evaluation items. Each sample contains an objective, sample test items, and criteria for judging the adequacy of student responses. The objectives are divided into nine categories: (1) introduction to government; (2) our colonial heritage; (3) the American constitution; (4) government and the citizen; (5) American politics; (6) the congress; (7) the presidency and the executive; (8) the federal judiciary; and (9) state and local government. Interpretation and analysis of data, rather than recognition of facts, are emphasized. A four-page glossary is appended. (MH)
