This is part two of a three-part SMSG algebra text for high school students. The principle objective of the text is to help the student develop an understanding and appreciation of some of the algebraic structure exhibited by the real number system, and the use of this structure as a basis for the techniques of algebra. Chapter topics include addition and multiplication of real numbers, subtraction and division of real numbers, factors, exponents, radicals, and polynomials and rational expressions.
