This paper discusses some of the problems encountered by students in an introductory children's literature course as they planned and produced brief television presentations centered around picture books suitable for an audience of young children. A rationale for the project is provided as well as a detailed review of the planning process. The widely differing techniques used for presentations are briefly described, the attendant success factors and difficulties are indicated, and results of a questionnaire completed by students at the end of the course are discussed. It was concluded that a number of measures would be necessary to make this a more worthwhile project in children's literature courses where the time that can be devoted to it is minimal. (RAO)
