The overview of this annual report emphasizes some of the major projects completed by the Institute for Research and Development in Occupational Education, in particular a pre-admissions counseling project for mature adult women, a project entitled "College and Industry - Partners in the Handicapped Employment Role," and a project incorporating two-way television. The largest section, Section II, summarizes eighteen grants and projects, including those dealing with planning a career path workshop for female high school students, sex differences in cooperative education, inservice training of community college counselors, handicapped employment, training career counselors for handicapped high school students, sex role values in career decision making, games for achieving mandated equality in schools, a study of job placement for the educable mentally retarded, enhancing potential for women in science, and staff professionalization in occupational education. Section III discusses in-house projects, such as staff development activities for urban vocational directors, an administrative handbook for occupational directors, and various workshops. Section IV covers services such as workshops and presentations. Section V briefly discusses contracted services such as the review of agency proposals and development of evaluations for them.
