During its infancy period, humanistic education was strongly influenced and nurtured by T-Group and Human Relations Training, along with the personal growth and encounter activities of the human potential movement. As it moved into childhood, humanistic education recognized the need for more practical methods of implementing its new ideas and adopted a wealth of activities, including values clarification, role play, fantasy, Gestalt therapy, and a broad range of communication skills, designed to incorporate an affective component into the classroom. As humanistic education becomes a young adult, its methods are being incorporated into the teaching of basic skills and integrated into a broad range of educational programs for adults. (Author)
