Described in this paper are strategies and programs developed by the Control Data Corporation to address inner-city needs. Strategies cited include the establishment of new plants in economically depressed areas and the encouragement of local community support in business operations. Specific programs discussed are directed at the disadvantaged populations of inner cities and are concerned with unemployment, part-time employment, child development, community cooperation, computer based education, career counseling, health care for Indians, lower cost energy sources, and urban revitalization. Emphasis is placed on the need for community support and cooperation. (EB)
