Curriculum material citations relevant to the Native peoples of Alberta, Canada, were assembled into a bibliography that includes books, multi-media materials, periodicals, and other educational resources. The classroom teacher searching for Native Studies materials was kept especially in mind as the project progressed. Criteria for selection included availability, pertinence to Native groups in Alberta, and quality of the item according to format, intercultural sensitivity and avoidance of ethnocentricity. The master list of the bibliography is divided into sections on books, multi-media materials, periodicals, and additional resources. Other sections include a listing of titles only and a subject index of common culture area references. Both provide additional means of access to the master list. The book portion of the bibliography lists 508 titles alphabetically by author and is keyed to primary, junior and senior levels. Annotations describe content and sometimes comment on inherent values or shortcomings. The multi-media portion lists phonotapes, video tapes, films, study kits, filmstrips, slides, etc., and includes material that may be rented as well as purchased. The periodicals section lists 49 periodicals and newsletters, and the additional resources section reports on other information sources, programs, projects, tours, charts, posters, etc. The final portion of the document lists book publishers, film distributors, and distributors for each.
