Intended for use by reading researchers and specialists, this booklet provides details on research studies conducted in Hungary from 1968 to 1977. The 19 studies cover a variety of topics ranging from reading habits and motivation among selected groups of workers, young people, intellectuals, and teachers, to the use, role, and influence of libraries. The booklet also contains descriptions of specific experiments performed in Hungary, such as reading camps for socially handicapped children. Each research survey includes the author's name, the method and scope of the investigation, a list of main subject matters, a bibliography, and a substantial summary of the conclusions reached. (FL)
