Detailed information on the 27 state-supported community colleges in Washington is presented in six sections. The first section, containing general information, describes the state system organization, lists the individual colleges, and reviews the roles of state agencies and presents a history of the system. A section on student information summarizes student characteristics with tables outlining data on enrollment, student educational intent, institutional intent and funding sources, student demographics (including age, sex, ethnic background, residency status, veterans status, and credit-hour load), student costs and financial aid, standard student budget, and required tuition fees. Program information is described in terms of course offerings, enrollment by time and location, vocational program offerings by field and college, degrees granted, transfers among institutions of higher education, and program completion and placement of occupational students. Staff data cover demographic characteristics, faculty and staff placement by area, and salary averages. Financial information is provided for institutional sources of funds, program expenditures by program, administrative element (e.g., community education, student services), and by object (e.g., salaries, employee benefits). A final section deals with facilities, construction, appropriation of capital funds, and equipment purchases. (MB)
