Report of a Survey of 1975 Graduates.
Barry, Stephen T.
Early career outcomes and evaluations of the college experiences of 1975 graduates of Boston State College are reported. These evaluations and outcomes are related to prior academic performance as students, to family and peer influences, and to elements of personal and socioeconomic background. The administration of a questionnaire generated information about the following variables: socioeconomic standing; father's occupation; family size; parents' education and employment; experiences prior to college; high school preparation; number of other colleges applied to and number of acceptances to other colleges; high school rank; parental feelings about their college attendance; age, sex, and race; expectations about future standard of living; expectations about college resulting in knowledge or credentials; duration of college study; academic expectations and achievements; unmet academic needs; salary outcomes by sex and major; effects of race and age on salary outcomes; information on employment by college major; job satisfaction; graduate school attendance; academic and personal satisfaction; and satisfaction with income and work.
