This self-instructional module on improving profits through effective management is the seventh in a set of twelve modules designed for small business owner-managers. Competencies for this module are (1) apply planning and organizing skills in the operation of a business and (2) implement effective time management practices. Provided are information sections on the four basic elements of management, two learning activities (time management checklist and development of a simple management plan), two pamphlets from the Small Business Administration ("Breaking the Barriers to Small Business Planning" and "Delegating Work and Responsibility"), and a script from a cassette tape designed for use with this module.
