Freedom For Individual Development: Teaching Methods and Instructional Materials.
Halverson, Claire B.; And Others
This module consists of materials designed for use in an inservice program which, in its entirety, runs 16 hours. Instructions for conducting the Workshop Activities are included at appropriate intervals throughout the module. The program is divided into three units: (1) awareness of sex sterotyping in self, society and schools; (2) setting goals to reduce sexism in one's own school; and (3) action planning in task forces. Each unit gives methods, rationale, objectives, list of materials, and time limits required, as well as specific instructions for workship activities and copies of all handouts used. The module is designed for presentation to teachers, librarians, school personnel and parents who serve on curriculum or advisory committees. All members of the educational community who are committed to carrying out programs that will diminish sex role sterotyping will find the module helpful. (Author)
