Training Manpower for Health Administrations. Report on the Working Group on Specific Problems of Schools of Public Health. Brussels, 9-11 September 1975.
World Health Organization, Copenhagen (Denmark). Regional Office for Europe.
A working group composed of representatives from ten European countries and Nigeria was convened by the World Health Organization because of a recognition of the accelerating rate of change in the character and range of public health problems throughout the world. The program for the working group was designed to explore the major aspects of communications and relationships between schools of public health and health administrations. Four major topics were considered: (1) identifying manpower needs and problems of public health services; (2) new educational needs of health administrations; (3) educational responses to new needs of health services: organizational, administrative, curricular, and technical; and (4) joint responsibilities of health administrations and public health education systems for planning, implementing, and evaluating educational programs. The program of the working group, the list of working documents and background material, and the list of participants are appended to this report. (JD)
