This guide has been developed to provide schools with a comprehensive health education program for grades kindergarten through three. It is divided into eight major units: (1) self concept and emotional health; (2) drug abuse; (3) diseases and disorders; (4) environmental health; (5) growth and development; (6) nutrition; (7) dental health; and (8) safety and first aid. Each unit includes the competency expected to be learned, the major understandings and concepts within the competency, and sample learning experiences. Stories emphasizing human relations and quiz games are appended. (JD)
