Mathematics Through the Computer.
Sandford, James F.
This manual is intended to provide the high school classroom teacher with a reference in which the teacher can present the computer language "BASIC" and demonstrate its usefulness in algebraic concepts. Lesson plans constitute the major part of the manual with attention being given to objectives, presentations, assignments, materials, and detailed computer solutions to problems and exercises. Chapter one serves as an introduction to computers and computer programing. Chapter two provides information and suggestions to the teacher for integrating the computer terminal into the classroom and demonstrates how the computer supports learning about different number sets. Chapter three shows how a large topic such as graphing can be enhanced by the use of computers. (MN)
