The monograph addresses aspects of educating severely impaired/multiply handicapped (particularly physically handicapped) children. An overview section provides background information on the population as well as on school programs designed for these students. The second section focuses on the following programing aspects: planning, identification, assessment and staffing, and educational program design. Chapter three, on personnel, reviews competencies for teachers. A fourth section on administration touches on such topics as scheduling, accountability, transportation, and facilities. (CL)
