Designed as a supplement to "Responding: Ginn Interrelated Sequences in Literature," this evaluation guide offers the following: a discussion of general objectives for literature study, interpretative measures for use with the diagnostic test of specific skills, student attitude scales, a check list and evaluation procedure for observing student responses, six questionnaires devised to provide background information on students, a chapter on evaluating student essays, and the answer keys to the pretest, growth test, and diagnostic tests of specific skills. Two essays are appended: "The Nature of Achievement in Literature: Some Notes on Evaluation and Accountability," and "Literary Criticism and Educational Measurement: Toward a Framework for Curriculum."
