Educational Opportunities Through Federal Assistance Programs, Fiscal 77.

In this publication, the 12th annual report of the Division of Federal Assistance in the Ohio Department of Education, division activities during the 1976-77 school year are summarized. Statistical, fiscal, and graphic data are presented. The purpose, size and scope of various programs administered by the division are reviewed. The impact of educational opportunities provided through various acts and titles are explained in an assessment of progress made during the past five years. During fiscal 1977, the Division of Federal Assistance was responsible for seven distinct areas covered by the Elementary and Secondary Education Act. These included four Title I programs, designed to meet the instructional needs of educationally disadvantaged, handicapped, and institutionalized children and children of migratory agricultural workers; two Title IV programs; and an Adult Basic Education program.
