A Natural Language Graphics System.
Brown, David, C.; Kwasny, Stan C.
This report describes an experimental system for drawing simple pictures on a computer graphics terminal using natural language input. The system is capable of drawing lines, points, and circles on command from the user, as well as answering questions about system capabilities and objects on the screen. Erasures are permitted and language input can be embellished with touches to convey positional information. Written in LISP 1.6 for the DEC System-10 computer, the system was implemented to test out ideas on system organization, to establish the viability of combining language and graphics, and to experiment with appropriate artificial intelligence techniques.
