This workbook is designed to help student teachers and paraprofessionals involved in early childhood programs evaluate their reactions to problem situations and assess their teaching potential based on past performance, individual preferences and attitudes, and evaluations by others. The first section contains perforated worksheets presenting problem situations, a list of probable reactions to choose from and elaborate on, and three questions designed to help the user explore his/her feelings about the situation. Problem situations involving children, parents, staff, and conflicts in teaching methods are included. The second section contains perforated worksheets and instructions for different self rating exercises that center on personality type, experiences, preferences, and attitudes. Also included are a list of clues for good teaching and a quiz designed to assess one's ability to hold down an early childhood teaching position. (SB)
