IEP Handbook: A Teacher Manual for the Implementation of Public Law 94-142. (Project Aid: Assistance for the IEP Development).
Proger, Barton B.; And Others
Designed as a resource guide for teachers, the manual provides information on procedures and forms for developing individualized education programs (IEPs) for handicapped students. An introductory session reviews the purpose of P.L. 94-142 (Education for All Handicapped Children Act) and the law's requirements for IEPs. Presented are sample IEP forms and directions for completing the forms. Among additional IEP-related forms and procedures considered are flow charts for gifted students, forms requesting an IEP planning meeting, referral forms, notification forms, and due process procedures. A fourth section explains the policies and working procedures of Montgomery County (Pennsylvania) Intermediate Unit regarding IEPs. The bulk of the document consists of appended information, including sample IEPs for students with 15 types of handicapping conditions, and questions and answers on such related areas as IEP content and parental involvement.
