Brief program descriptions derived from a cross-Canada survey of current enrichment programs and teaching materials for Native Studies programs are presented in this document. Prices for materials and some funding sources are also presented. Brief paragraphs describe on-going programs in each of the following subject areas: art (5 programs); festivals, displays, exhibits, etc. (e.g., a program producing a calendar of Indian festivals and a Christmas party featuring Indian drumming and dancing); health, physical education, and outdoor education programs (8 programs, including activities such as orienteering, horsemanship, canoeing, etc.); language arts (8 programs); readers, primers, and legends (11 programs); mathematics (2 programs); music and dance (9 programs); native language programs (18, including programs which utilize syllabic typewriters, more than 1 language, the development of language-specific texts, etc.); science (4 programs); social studies (22 programs); teacher orientation and training programs (7); and general resource materials (20 references, including books, films, journals, etc.).
