Aftercare Clients in a Psychologically Therapeutic Day-Care Program.
Murray, Carol A.; And Others
Previously hospitalized psychiatric patients experienced a psychologically therapeutic day-care program. These aftercare clients were interviewed concerning psychological change in their behavior. The results show that most clients increased their ability to psychologically function and relatively few clients indicated a decrease in their ability to psychologically function. Three variables are predictive of psychological functioning. These variables are a person's present housing, medication cost, and a person's age. The study indicates that a therapeutic day-care program can help aftercare clients increase their psychological functioning. This research indicates that a therapeutic day-care program can significantly enhance an aftercare program. (Author)
