This document describes Project Libra, a competency-based, field-centered approach to preparation of library media specialists at the undergraduate and graduate levels at Auburn University (Alabama). Thirteen global objectives for the programs are listed, and competencies within each of these are suggested. The program of study and outlines of curriculum content for each of the global objectives are presented. In addition, sections of the document are devoted to participant recruitment, scholarship plans, staff and staff organization, facilities and equipment, and research evaluation, and dissemination components of the program.
