The fourth annual report to the Florida Legislature reviews the reasons for time-shortened education, methods for student acceleration, and financial implications of acceleration. This progress report contains information on year-round matriculation, credit by verified proficiency (including equivalency tests and advanced placement), credit for dual enrollment and early admission, credit for nonschool experience such as job training, and academic calendar alternations. Statistical data on student acceleration in school districts, community colleges, and state universities are included, along with the text of relevant Florida law. (Author/DS)
